Florida Yearbook Seminar Notes and Links

I have been teaching photography to middle and high school students in St. Petersburg, Florida the past couple of days. The emphasis has been on learning to use the camera in manual mode and using the elements of composition to become a better photographer.

The students in the photography track have their work critiqued by their peers and the instructor  and receive feedback to assist them in becoming better photographers. Images are critiqued for proper exposure, sharpness and the compositional elements used to help tell the story.

It is indeed an interesting process watching them go from using full auto mode on their cameras to understanding ISO, aperture and shutter speed and how manual settings affect the final image.

Below are some links that might be helpful in helping to further understand all the factors that go into making powerful photographs that tell a story.
