Night Lights

Under the lights at Bishop Kenny.

Bishop Kenny hosted Ponte Vedra High in state baseball playoff action Friday, May 7. It was a regional semi-final game which saw two talented pitchers go head to head.  It was Elliot Warford for PV and Blaine Foster for BK dueling on the bump.

Both teams went back and forth and were deadlocked 5-5 at the end of seven. In a huge eighth inning explosion, PV scored 12 runs  off the Crusader relievers for which Kenny had no response in their half of the eighth. The final – Ponte Vedra 17 Bishop Kenny 5.

The Sharks face Wakulla in regional final action this coming week.

Put Me In Coach

I was once again hanging out at the ball field a couple nights ago. No lugging heavy cameras around. Just me, a Coca-Cola and a bag of peanuts. Enjoying the game and some time with the family. [Read more…]

January 7, 2009 – Road Trip

Keys? Check. Gator tie off the neck? Check. Keys? Check. iPod with cruisin’ tunes? Check. Directions from Google Maps? Check. Then it is time to hit the road for the 350 mile trip to Miami and the BCS National Championship game. It still seems a little unbelievable that I’ll be there to witness it. I am thankful that a good friend of mine for many many years was able to get tickets. Thank you Jordan!

I suppose that sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. In this case, that is certainly true. However, I always remember to be thankful for the good things that happen in life. They really don’t happen through luck, but because of carefully nurtured relationships and a pay it forward attitude. One good deed will certainly lead to another. In the end, I suppose it all balances out – that is, what get and what we give.

Tomorrow’s post might be a little late, but trust me, there will be plenty of photos taken during pre-game, game and post game activities that will appear in the next post.
