The 2011 Moe’s Sunshine Classic

The first ever Moe’s Sunshine Classic lacrosse doubleheader was held on February 20, 2011 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, FL.

The Jacksonville University Dolphins faced off against the fifteenth ranked Georgetown Hoyas. Despite a valiant comeback effort, the Dolphins lost 15-12.

In the second game of the classic, sixth ranked Notre Dame faced off against fifth ranked Duke in a rematch of last year’s NCAA championship. The Fighting Irish, after going down 3-0 managed to score five unanswered goals to take the lead and went on to win 12-7.

My first time ever shooting LAX and I found it to be quite fun. Please check out more of my images at

And, the best part of the day was when The Irish took the field to the accompaniment of bagpipes. I love those kind of traditions.

The Boys of Fall

Bright and early on Saturday morning I cranked up the old van and headed over to Bishop Kenny to shoot team and individual photos. By the weather you would not know it was time for The Boys of Fall to be out in full pads smacking each other around on the gridiron. But, we live in Florida – it’s hot. The temps were already in the mid 80’s and the humidity was swamp-like on this late August morning. [Read more…]

Night Lights

Under the lights at Bishop Kenny.

Bishop Kenny hosted Ponte Vedra High in state baseball playoff action Friday, May 7. It was a regional semi-final game which saw two talented pitchers go head to head.  It was Elliot Warford for PV and Blaine Foster for BK dueling on the bump.

Both teams went back and forth and were deadlocked 5-5 at the end of seven. In a huge eighth inning explosion, PV scored 12 runs  off the Crusader relievers for which Kenny had no response in their half of the eighth. The final – Ponte Vedra 17 Bishop Kenny 5.

The Sharks face Wakulla in regional final action this coming week.

Put Me In Coach

I was once again hanging out at the ball field a couple nights ago. No lugging heavy cameras around. Just me, a Coca-Cola and a bag of peanuts. Enjoying the game and some time with the family. [Read more…]

Pitching in the pretty light

Shot a little more baseball today. I love the sport. There is always the challenge of seeing something a little different from the usual. In this photo, the late afternoon light provides a nice key light on pitcher Ryan Todd caught here mid delivery against Buchholz. The Crusaders had a poor outing, going down 17-5 to the Bobcats.
