One Wedding and a Football Game

My weekends in the fall usually consist of livestreaming a Friday night high school football game and then shooting the University of Florida game when the Gators play in The Swamp on Saturdays.

This weekend was a little different as I shot a Friday afternoon wedding with an evening reception that wrapped up about 10:30 PM. I then got up early Saturday to head to Gainesville, Florida to cover ESPN GameDay and the Gators as they hosted the Gamecocks of South Carolina in a SEC Eastern Division showdown.

The wedding was great as I photographed a long time friend of my oldest daughter marry the man of her dreams. I wish Mike and Jennifer a long and happy marriage. They are a fun couple!

Here are a couple of snaps from the ceremony and reception.

The atmosphere in Gainesville was exciting on game day. ESPN choose to have their GameDay program outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for the 12th time. The Gators have been involved in a game where GameDay has been broadcast a nation leading 35 times. True to every other show, folks were out in force with their signs supporting one team or another or in this year of presidential election, signs supporting their candidate of choice.

The Gators jumped out to an early lead after a Carolina turnover on their opening possession to go up 7-0 in the game. The Gators never looked back in defeating the Gamecocks 44-11 to take control of the SEC Eastern Division race.

Two big events made for a tiring, but very rewarding weekend of photography. I love what I do!
